Siliguri, 15th February: In a major operation, the Siliguri Metropolitan Police’s Detective Department arrested one person carrying a large quantity of cannabis.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid under Mahananda Bridge and recovered approximately 21 kilograms and 800 grams of cannabis from two trolley bags.
The accused has been identified as Bharat Kumar Das, a resident of Kolkata. Police sources said he was allegedly transporting the cannabis from Cooch Behar to Kolkata.
The Detective Department is investigating to determine if others are involved in the trafficking network.
