Siliguri, 25th September: In a significant breakthrough, the Special Operation Group (SOG) and NJP (New Jalpaiguri) police conducted a joint operation and apprehended a motorbike rider with brown sugar. The accused has been identified as Rafiqul Haque (46), a resident of Jummagachh in Rajganj.
According to reports, on Monday, acting on a tip-off, the SOG and NJP police jointly launched an operation in the Gora More area of Fulbari I and apprehended the bike rider. During the search, 300 grams of brown sugar was retrieved from his possession. Following this, he was arrested.
As per police sources, the market value of the retrieved brown sugar is estimated to be approximately 10 lakh. It was being brought from Ambari to Siliguri. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation of the entire incident.
