Kharibari, 01st January: In a significant development, the Kharibari police have successfully thwarted another drug trafficking attempt and arrested an individual with 90 grams of brown sugar. The arrested person has been identified as Krishna Barman (37), a resident of Hatidoba in Buraganj.
According to police sources, the officials launched a tip-off operation near Buraganj Kalkut High School, where they apprehended Krishna Barman. He was reportedly on a bicycle, en route to sell the drugs. During the search, police recovered nearly 90 grams of brown sugar from his possession.
Krishna Barman was arrested on charges of drug trafficking and has been sent to Siliguri’s sub-divisional court. The police have initiated a full investigation into the matter.
