Siliguri, 18th November: In a significant breakthrough, the Special Operation Group (SOG) along with cops of Siliguri police station have successfully foiled attempted drug trafficking from Uttar Dinajpur to Siliguri and apprehended a smuggler. The accused has been identified as Rajak Hussain, a resident of Uttar Dinajpur district.
According to reports, Rajak arrived in Siliguri, on Friday night, on his two-wheeler from Uttar Dinajpur to deliver the contraband. Following this, the accused was spotted wandering with the intoxicant substances at PNT Street of Milan Pally adjacent to SF Road.
Subsequently, the SOG team, acting on a tip-off, launched a joint operation with Siliguri Police Station and arrested Rajak Hussain. The police also retrieved 500 grams of brown sugar from the trunk of Rajak’s bike. On Saturday, the police presented the accused before the Siliguri Court after registering a case under the Narcotic Drugs And Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Currently, the police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the entire incident.
