Siliguri, 15th December: The cops of Pradhan Nagar police station have successfully arrested a miscreant on charges of theft in a residence in Siliguri. The arrested accused has been identified as Biswajit Mahanto.
According to police sources, late on Wednesday night, a miscreant allegedly stole a water motor pump and other hardware equipment from the house located in the Champasari area under the jurisdiction of Pradhan Nagar police station. The following day, the house owner discovered the theft and filed a formal complaint at Pradhan Nagar police station.
Based on the complaint, the cops of Pradhan Nagar police station initiated an investigation and arrested the accused from the Champasari area on Thursday night. Upon interrogating the accused, the police also recovered the stolen goods. On Friday, the accused was produced before Siliguri Court for legal proceedings.
