Siliguri, 17th January: A distressing incident has come to light from Siliguri where an elderly neighbour has been accused of attempting to sexually assault a 9-year-old girl. The arrested accused has been identified as Balai Saha (57).
As per reports, on Wednesday afternoon, the 9-year-old girl was alone at her residence in an area under the Khalpara Outpost. The minor’s mother went to her shop. During this, an elderly neighbour cleverly entered the house and allegedly attempted to commit the heinous act. Significantly, the minor’s mother arrived in the meantime and the ill intention was averted. Subsequently, an uproar regarding the incident surfaced in the area.
Upon receiving the news, the police of the Khalpara outpost arrived at the location, apprehended the accused elderly, and took him to the police station. On Thursday, the accused will be produced before the Siliguri court.
