Siliguri, 02nd September: In a major achievement, the police officers of the Siliguri Police have successfully apprehended an individual on charges of stealing a scooty. The accused has been identified as Suman Chakraborty (22), a resident of the Gopal More area in Deshbandhu Para.
According to reports, on the 14th of August, a scooty was allegedly stolen from under the flyover in Mahabirstan. Subsequently, a written complaint of the entire incident was filed at the Siliguri Police Station. The police launched an investigation and examined the CCTV cameras installed in the area. The CCTV footage helped the police officers to identify the accused thief.
On Sunday, the suspect was seen roaming in the area adjacent to the NTS More in Siliguri in an attempt to sell the stolen vehicle. During this, the police launched an operation and arrested the accused on the spot. The scooty was subsequently recovered and the accused was produced before the Siliguri Court on Monday. Police sources revealed that the accused had recently been arrested in a similar theft case by the Bhakti Nagar police station.
