Fulbari, 29th May: The NJP police have made a breakthrough in the investigation of a series of burglaries and robberies in Fulbari. The primary suspect, identified as Majidul Rehman, alias Salim, was successfully apprehended.
The incidents took place on March 21 in Rajiv Nagar and the Supermarket area of Fulbari. Reportedly, a group of miscreants with sharp weapons attempted to steal gold and silver valuables amounting to lakhs of rupees from multiple homes.
The series of burglaries caused widespread panic in the community. Following the report of the crimes, the NJP police initiated a thorough investigation and successfully arrested one individual linked to the incidents after almost two months. During the arrest, the police recovered 9 grams of gold from the suspect.
The arrested individual was presented before the Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the NJP police have initiated efforts to locate and apprehend the remaining members of the group involved.
