Siliguri, 13th November: In a major development in the gold trader kidnapping and murder case, police from Bidhannagar Police Station arrested one person from the Champasari area under Pradhan Nagar Police Station limits in Siliguri. The arrested individual has been identified as Sajal Sarkar.
Earlier, police had arrested two persons, including the driver of Rajganj BDO Prashant Barman, in connection with the case. Following their interrogation, police conducted a raid late Wednesday evening in Champasari and apprehended Sajal Sarkar.
According to sources, Sajal Sarkar is reportedly linked to the ruling Trinamool Congress, which has added a new twist to the investigation. Meanwhile, police are probing the matter from all possible angles.
