Siliguri, 11th September: A thief was arrested within 12 hours of a theft complaint being lodged in Siliguri. The accused, identified as Prakash Kumar Sharma (20), is stated to be a resident of the Gurung Basti area.
According to reports, a theft took place on Tuesday in a residence in Gurung Basti. Following the incident, the family filed a complaint at the Pradhan Nagar police station.
Acting swiftly, the police identified the suspect using CCTV footage and arrested Prakash Kumar Sharma from Gurung Basti Bazaar last night.
The accused has been produced in Siliguri court on Wednesday, while police are engaged in further investigation.
