Siliguri, 21st August: The Khalpara Outpost under Siliguri Metropolitan Police has arrested a 22-year-old man named Chotan Islam for allegedly stealing an iron slab. The accused is a resident of Kachra Math in the Jhankar More area of Siliguri.
The theft reportedly occurred early on Tuesday, when an iron slab kept in front of a house in Santoshi Nagar was stolen. Following a complaint lodged at the Khalpara Outpost, police launched an investigation. Acting on their findings, they arrested Chotan Islam late Tuesday night from Hemanta Basu Colony. The stolen slab was recovered during the operation.
The arrested accused has been produced before the Siliguri court on Wednesday.
