Siliguri, 29th December: Police arrested Pintoo Rastogi, manager of Paramount Nursing Home in Ward No. 09, over an incident of parking dispute.
Reportedly, the locals protested outside the said nursing home on Tuesday over parking problems. They alleged that the nursing home authorities had been asked several times to separate the parking arrangements. However, no necessary steps were taken. This created an atmosphere of tension yesterday.
As the matter escalated, an argument broke out between a local named Binit Bansal and the manager of the nursing home when he was not allowed to park his car in front of his own house. At that time, the manager called the security guards and allegedly attacked Binit Bansal, severely injuring him.
After the incident, a complaint was lodged at the Khalpara outpost against the manager of the nursing home and several others. Police arrested Pintoo Rastogi based on the complaint. When he was produced at Siliguri court today, the court ordered him police custody till January 07.
