Siliguri, 06th January: Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb expressed that the number of complaints over the phone in the ‘Talk to Mayor’ program has significantly decreased which indicates the capability of the SMC to solve people’s problems.
According to reports, earlier the ‘Talk to Mayor’ programme received about 30 to 35 calls where the citizens cited several grievances to the Mayor. However, at present, the number of calls has drastically gone down. Significantly, the trend indicates a positive impact of solution to complaints.
On Saturday, the ‘Talk to Mayor’ programme received 13 calls. However, Mayor Goutam Deb expressed concerns regarding the Bagrakot railway crossing and subsequently brought forward ideas to solve the issue. The Mayor stated that to resolve the issue, if constructing a flyover is not a possibility, a foot-over bridge can be built for people’s commute on foot.
