Naxalbari, 02nd April: The ‘NS Amra Youth Cup 2023’ football tournament has commenced under the aegis of Naxalbari Youth at Nikhil Smriti Maidan in Naxalbari.
Today the game began with a grand procession and cultural programme. Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb inaugurated the tournament by lighting a lamp.
During this, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar, Chairman of Siliguri Mahakma Parishad Arun Ghosh, District Magistrate S. Ponnambalam, Additional Superintendent of Police Manoranjan Ghosh, SDPO Achintya Gupta and others were present.
Reportedly, 12 teams participated in the said competition including football teams of Assam, Kolkata, Odisha, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Meerut, Meghalaya and Nepal. The first day commenced with the match between East Bengal and MM FC Naxalbari.
