Siliguri, 02nd December: The 39th North Bengal Book Fair will be organized at Kanchenjunga Stadium, Siliguri from December 03 and continue till December 12.
During a press conference at the Siliguri Journalists Club on Thursday, members of the North Bengal Book Fair Committee stated that renowned singer and actor Anjan Dutta will inaugurate the Book Fair at Kanchenjunga Stadium, Siliguri.
It has been learned that the theme of this year’s Book Fair is “Alokito manush chai” (We want enlightened people). Renowned publishing houses from Bangladesh, Delhi, Mumbai, Allahabad, Kolkata will be present at the book fair with their best publications.
Alok Gon, the working convener of the North Bengal Book Fair, said that the fair will be held from December 03 to December 12. This time, 50 stalls will be set up following COVID safety measures. Free COVID vaccination will be done at the book fair premises on December 08 under the initiative of the municipality and arrangements have been made for cultural programmes. Masks are mandatory at the fair entrance.
