Siliguri, 14th November: The NJP police once again confiscated firecrackers worth lakhs of rupees. The NJP police, under disguise, launched a campaign in a shop in Srinagar colony under Fulbari – No. 1 gram panchayat and successfully seized crackers worth lakhs of rupees.
The police have not been able to arrest the owner of the shop. However, the police have registered a case in this context and are searching for the owner.
It is to be noted that the Metropolitan Police are busting several shops selling firecrackers ever since the Calcutta High Court banned the use and sale of fireworks, this Diwali and Chhath Puja.
