Siliguri, 20th May: The NJP police, based on a tip-off, launched operations at the Fulbari Tollgate area and seized a large quantity of foreign liquor, on Wednesday evening. The estimated market value of the recovered liquor is 17 lakh 11 thousand 200 rupees.
Reportedly, the NJP police seized 713 cartons of foreign liquor after searching a truck heading from Assam to Bihar at the Fulbari toll gate. Truck driver Jitendra Singh and assistant driver Sonu Kumar were arrested as they were unable to present any valid document.
The arrested individuals were produced at the Jalpaiguri court on Thursday.
