Siliguri, 12th August: NJP police rescued a minor girl who had been missing and also arrested a youth in connection to the incident. The arrested accused has been identified as Biswajit Roy, a resident of the Matigara Bedbasty area.
Reportedly, the 15-year-old went missing from the Shitalapara area under the NJP police station on August 10. A complaint was lodged at the police station on Wednesday on behalf of her family. Based on the complaint, the police launched investigations and arrested Biswajit Roy. The girl was rescued from the Fulbari Bazar area late Thursday night.
Meanwhile, after questioning the minor girl, the police came to know that Roy had planned to take her elsewhere. A kidnapping case was filed against the youth on behalf of the minor’s family. The arrested individual was sent to Jalpaiguri court today.
