Siliguri, 08th May: Within 24 hours of theft, NJP police apprehended an individual and arrested him with stolen cash and gold ornaments in his possession. The accused has been identified as Zahidul Ali.
Notably, on May 6, gold ornaments and cash were stolen from a house in Shantipara area after which a written complaint was made at NJP Police Station. Subsequently, the police based on the complaint, started an investigation and arrested Zahidul on Sunday night. The accused had 20,000 in cash along with gold ornaments in his possession.
According to police sources, the accused has many such allegations against his name. Today, the accused has been produced before the Jalpaiguri Court, while, the matter is under further investigation by the police.
