Siliguri, 09th September: In a proactive operation, NJP police successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a stolen vehicle and apprehended three individuals involved in the plot. The suspects, identified as Ganesh Kumar, Ranjit Kumar, and Rahul Kumar Roy, all hailing from Bihar, were arrested in connection with the incident.
Acting on a tip-off, the police launched an operation on Friday evening at Naukaghat More, intercepting a Scorpio car suspected to have been stolen from Bihar en route to Assam via Siliguri. During the inspection, the driver failed to produce valid documentation of the vehicle, raising doubts about its legality. Additionally, police revealed that the license plate affixed to the car was counterfeit.
As a result, the police took immediate possession of the stolen Scorpio car and detained the three accused at the scene. Subsequently, Ganesh Kumar, Ranjit Kumar, and Rahul Kumar Roy were presented before the Jalpaiguri Court today.
