Siliguri, 14th August: In a foiled attempt to robbery, the NJP police arrested five criminals, identified as Pintu Kumar from Falakata, and Pawan Kumar Mahato, Kundan Kumar Das, Abhishek Kumar, and Santosh Kumar, all three from Bihar.
On Tuesday night, the officers from NJP police station received a tip-off that a group of individuals had gathered in a four-wheeler to carry out a robbery. The team of police officials promptly reached the location and apprehended the five suspects. Subsequently, the vehicle to be used for the criminal activities had also been seized.
Police sources revealed that the suspects were plotting a robbery on Canal Road. The five accused were presented in the Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday.
