Siliguri, 18th April: Despite repeated reminders to stay home and not to come out on the streets unnecessarily, there have been several complaints of people gathering at various corners around the city deliberately violating the lockdown.
After CM’s announcement yesterday at Nabanna to take stern action against the lockdown violators, the NJP police launched operations in various parts of the city since early morning and detained several e-rickshaws (toto) and arrested several violators.
Besides, the police also resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the violators.
