Siliguri, 16th November: The NJP police arrested three men on the charges of stealing mobile tower batteries. The arrested accused have been identified as Md Ashraf, Md Saddam, and Md Kaif.
Reportedly, theft of mobile tower batteries is being reported for the past several days from different areas of Siliguri. Batteries worth lakhs have already been stolen. Private companies have lodged complaints in this regard at NJP police station as well as various police stations under Siliguri Metropolitan Police. Based on the complaint, the NJP police launched investigations and arrested three men from the surrounding areas of NJP station.
Police suspect that a big gang is involved in such thefts. The arrested individuals were produced before the court on Monday.
