Siliguri, 30th May: Based on a tip-off, the NJP police, on Friday night, launched an operation at the Putimari area and arrested a man under the charge of robbery. The accused has been identified as Adesh Roy alias Rajesh, a resident of the same area.
As per the information, a group of miscreants looted one lakh rupees from a private bank employee in the Goramore area, a few days ago. Based on the complaint, the NJP police launched an investigation and arrested five of them. However, Adesh Roy, the suspected mastermind of the crime, was absconding. The police successfully got hold of him last night and arrested him from his residence.
The arrested accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Saturday.
