Siliguri, 22nd August: NJP police arrested two people with a huge quantity of cannabis. The arrested accused have been identified as Ilyas Rehman and Taleb Hussain.
According to the information, the undercover police of NJP police station detained a pickup van in Jotiyakali area of Fulbari, based on a tip-off, late Saturday night. During the search, 43 kg of marijuana was recovered from the said van. Following this, the duo was immediately taken into custody.
As per police sources, the market value of the seized drug is around Rs 4 lakh. The cannabis was being taken from Cooch Behar via Fulbari to Kolkata. Today both the accused were produced in Jalpaiguri court.
