Siliguri, 29th January: The NJP police, based on a tip-off, campaigned in plain dress and nabbed three miscreants before they could commit the crime. The arrested have been identified as Roop Sarkar resident of Deshbandhu Para, Chiranjit Mandal of Eastern Bypass area and Pappu Barman a resident of Kashmir Colony.
According to police sources, on Thursday night, the police received information regarding several miscreants who had gathered in Santipara Barrack Colony area for a planned robbery. While the police arrested three, five other miscreants managed to escape from the scene.
Police recovered sharp weapons and iron rods from the accused. The arrested were produced in the Jalpaiguri court today.
