Siliguri, 31st August: The NJP police arrested two youths with around 22 kgs of cannabis. An unregistered scooty was also recovered from their possession. The arrested accused have been identified as Rana Banerjee of Mamata Para, and Avinash Mahato of Bakravita.
According to police sources, Rana and Abinash transported the cannabis from Cooch Behar to Siliguri for trade. The estimated market value of the recovered cannabis is 2 lakh rupees. A case has been filed against them under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The duo was produced at Jalpaiguri court today.
