Siliguri, 17th November: The NJP police, on Monday night, arrested two more men from Fulbari and Shantipara on the charge of stealing mobile tower batteries. The arrested have been identified as Dilip Barman and Jagannath Sarkar. They were produced at the Jalpaiguri court today.
It is to be noted that theft of mobile tower batteries is being reported for the past several days from different areas of Siliguri. Batteries worth lakhs have already been stolen. Private companies have lodged complaints in this regard at NJP police station as well as various police stations under Siliguri Metropolitan Police.
Based on the complaint, the NJP police launched investigations and arrested three men from the surrounding areas of NJP station, on Sunday. After interrogating them, the police nabbed two more men on Monday night.
