Siliguri, 21st July: NJP police arrested two men under the charge of robbery. The duo has been identified as Ajay Saha alias Chutki and Ranjit Biswas
As per the information, the residence of Biplab Chakraborty, a resident of Michael Madhusudan Colony, had been vacant since July 14. On Saturday, i.e. July 18, his neighbours notified him regarding a theft at his house.
Biplab immediately returned home and lodged a written complaint at the NJP police station. Based on the complaint, the police, on Monday night launched operations at the Ambika Nagar Underpass and successfully got hold of the two accused. Stolen gold and silver jewellery, cash, and other valuables were also recovered from their possession.
According to police sources, the arrested are residents of the same area and are said to have various past criminal records. The duo was produced before the Jalpaiguri Court on Tuesday.
