Siliguri, 20th May: The NJP police arrested a man along with Segun wood worth lakhs of rupees. The arrested accused has been identified as Chandan Kumar Singh.
It has been learned that on Wednesday, the NJP police, based on a tip-off, launched operations at the Fulbari area and detained a truck loaded with ginger. Police searched the truck and recovered a large quantity of stolen Segun wood with an estimated market value of 40-50 lakh rupees. The truck driver was arrested in the incident.
According to police sources, the truck was on its way from Assam to Bihar.
