Siliguri, 02nd June: The NJP police, based on a tip-off, launched operations at the Ambikanagar area and busted a gang of robbers, and arrested three of its members. The arrested accused have been identified as Sourav Biswas from Bholamore, Suvam Dutta, and Gopal Mohanto from Mamatapara.
A team of police led by SI Gautam Mallick and ASI Khagen Barman launched operations at the Ambikanagar area late Tuesday night. However, several miscreants escaped from the scene. The police chased them and successfully nabbed the three.
According to police sources, the miscreants had gathered there to rob a house or a shop. Several sharp weapons were recovered from their possession. They were sent to Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday.
