Siliguri, 24th February: Based on a tip-off, the NJP Police, on Wednesday, launched operations at the Ambika Nagar bazar area and arrested five miscreants on the charges of attempted robbery. Several weapons and a four-wheeler car were recovered from their possession.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mujibor Rahman, MD Abbas, MD Shah Rukh, Praveen Roy, and Dulal Roy. However, more 7-8 miscreants managed to escape the scene.
According to police sources, the arrested individuals are said to have various past criminal records. They were sent to Jalpaiguri court on Wednesday.
