NJP Murder Case: Accused surrenders in Jalpaiguri Court

Siliguri, 20th June: In a significant development in the NJP murder case, the prime accused identified as Anand Roy, Utsav Roy, and Tukai Roy, reportedly surrendered at the Jalpaiguri court on Thursday. The incident occurred on the previous Friday night near the IOC Road in NJP and resulted in the tragic death of Kalipad Roy.


According to reports, the incident allegedly stemmed from a dispute between rival groups over dominance and gambling activities in the NJP area. The altercation escalated and resulted in the fatal attack on Kalipad Roy near the IOC gate.

Following the incident, the family of the deceased filed a formal complaint at the NJP police station on Saturday morning. Subsequently, the police launched an investigation into the matter. However, the officials initially struggled to apprehend the suspects. After several attempts, the accused managed to evade police capture but eventually turned themselves in at the Jalpaiguri court.


Meanwhile, the NJP police station detained a youth named Naveen Roy for his possible involvement in the incident.
