NJP Jatiyatabadi Railway Thika Sramik Union protested in demand for labour appointment

Siliguri, 30th January: TMC Sramik Union protested by halting the work of the railways and demanding the appointment of local labourers, on Monday. The local contract workers joined the protest of the NJP Jatiyatabadi Railway Thika Sramik Union alleging the management not providing them with jobs in railways. 


Today a protest rally was taken out by the organization. Sujay Sarkar, president of the NJP branch of the labour organization, said that the central government has taken the initiative to make a model NJP of which the work has also commenced. However, the allottee company has been hiring outsourced contract workers instead of hiring local contract workers. They demanded that locals should be appointed for the work at the earliest.
