Siliguri, 28th May: The New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Government Railway Police (GRP) has apprehended an individual, identified as Abinash Singh (22), a resident of South Colony, for involvement in pickpocketing and snatching at the NJP Railway Station.
Reportedly, on Monday, during a routine security check at the station, GRP officers noticed Abinash’s suspicious behavior. Upon interrogation and search, they recovered two stolen mobile phones, prompting his arrest. Investigations revealed that Avinash regularly posed as a passenger to carry out thefts.
On Tuesday, the arrested accused has been produced before the Jalpaiguri court for legal proceedings.
