NJP GRP detains intruder from Bangalore Express train attempting to return Bangladesh

Siliguri, 22nd September: The NJP Government Railway Police (GRP) team has apprehended a Bangladeshi intruder attempting to return to Bangladesh via the Bangalore Express train. The accused, identified as Nayon Akon, had illegally crossed into India several months ago amid unrest in Bangladesh.

Reports indicate that Akon entered India through the Indo-Bangladesh border and subsequently secured a job in Bangalore with the help of a broker. After working for approximately three to four months, he planned to return home.

While boarding the train at NJP railway station, Akon underwent routine security checks. When asked for identification, he was unable to provide any valid documents, raising the suspicion of the railway police. He was then detained and handed over to the NJP GRP for further investigation.

During questioning, Akon confessed to illegally entering India and explained that the situation in Bangladesh had stabilized, prompting his decision to return home. He has since been presented before the Jalpaiguri court, and the NJP GRP is continuing its investigation into the matter.
