Nilgai rescued from drain in Motidhar Tea Estate in Bidhannagar, Phansidewa

Phansidewa, 21st April: A Nilgai, also known as the blue bull, was rescued after being found trapped in a drain at Motidhar Tea Estate under the Balasan Division in Bidhannagar, Phansidewa. The animal was first spotted by tea workers in Section No. 2 while they were harvesting leaves on Monday.


Upon receiving the information, the Ghoshpukur Forest Department quickly reached the site and rescued the animal. Curious locals gathered in large numbers to witness the incident, prompting the intervention of Bidhannagar Investigation Center police to manage the crowd.

Forest Ranger Prameet Lal informed that the Nilgai had likely strayed into the area from Nepal. The animal will undergo a physical examination before being released into a deep forest.
