Siliguri, 08th January: The NF Railway Mazdoor Union joined the ‘Nation Wide Relay Hunger Strike’ demanding the scrapping of the new pension scheme (NPS) and restoring the old pension scheme (OPS). Notably, for the past few years, the Railway Mazdoor Union has joined the movement across the country regarding the said demand.
Reportedly, beginning Monday, the organization sat on a relay hunger strike in front of all the railway offices across the country till January 11. Under this, the women’s organization of the Junction and NJP branch of the Railway Mazdoor Union sat on a relay hunger strike in front of the NJP ADRM office.
In this regard, the organization leader Tultuli Ghosh stated that the agitation demanded the restoration of the old pension scheme. She added that until the Central Government considers their demand, the agitation would continue.
