Naxalbari, 27th September: Sensation prevailed after the body of a newborn was found in the Khemchi River of Babupara in Naxalbari.
According to reports, on Wednesday, the locals spotted the body in the said river. Following this, the incident was reported to the Naxalbari police station. Upon receiving the news, police arrived at the scene, retrieved the body, and sent it to the Naxalbari Rural Hospital.
Subsequently, the body was transported to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for a post-mortem examination. At present, Naxalbari police are engaged in an investigation to ascertain the reason behind the presence of the body in the river.
