Naxalbari, 23rd June: A newborn baby was found abandoned on the banks of the Rakti River near the Kiran Chandra Tea Estate in Naxalbari, sparking concern and shock in the local area.
According to reports, a tea garden worker spotted the baby lying near the riverbank and immediately took the infant home. Following the advice of nearby residents and ASHA workers, the baby was taken to a hospital for a medical examination.
It is suspected that the newborn was deliberately left in the area. Upon being informed, officers from Naxalbari police station reached the site and have launched an investigation into the incident.
Medical reports indicate that the baby is currently in good health. Authorities are now working to trace how the infant ended up at the location.
