Siliguri, 25th February: A modular kitchen has been built at the Siliguri District Hospital on behalf of the State government at a cost of 43 lakh rupees. The newly built kitchen was inaugurated today. Such an initiative has been taken so that the meals for the patients can be prepared hygienically. From now onwards, breakfast, lunch and dinner for around 350 individuals will be prepared in the kitchen.
Reportedly, before the hospital’s kitchen was situated in the main building due to which a constant fear of a fire outbreak hovered over the authorities. Therefore, the new modular kitchen has been constructed separately behind the hospital.
Rudranath Bhattacharya, Chairman of the hospital’s Patient Welfare Association, stated that 1 cook and 12 workers would provide food to the patients.
