Alipurduar, 21st March: According to the instructions of the National Tiger Conservation Authority, the entry of tourists to the Buxa Tiger Reserve will be completely restricted on Tuesdays of every week. Gypsy Safari will also remain closed on the said day. The new rule will come into effect from April 01.
Apparently, in other tiger projects of the country, the said rule has been in force for several years. However, the Buxa Tiger Reserve was not involved in the said case. Therefore, the National Tiger Conservation Authority has decided to keep tigers and other wildlife free from humans once a day a week.
The State Forest Department announced the new decision by issuing a release today. In this regard, the Field Director of Buxa Tiger Reserve Apoorva Sen said that according to the new instructions, the entry of tourists into the Buxa Tiger Project is completely restricted for one day a week. Safari will also be closed on the said day and only the residents of the Buxa area can stay on the premises.
