Siliguri, 17th January: In celebration of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary on January 23, a special football tournament titled “Netaji Freedom Cup” will be organized. A press conference was held to announce the event, with notable figures such as Baichung Bhutia, Raj Basu, and MMIC Shobha Subba in attendance.
The tournament will feature former players from the East Bengal team, who will travel to Siliguri to play a friendly match against the Siliguri Mayor’s Eleven. This initiative aims to engage the youth of Siliguri in football and inspire them to avoid substance abuse, promoting a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation.
