Naxalbari, 27th June: A Nepali national has been arrested during the verification process for an Indian Passport. The arrested has been identified as Gopal Kharka (33), a resident of Jhapa district in Nepal.
According to police sources, on Monday, Gopal had gone for Indian Passport verification with forged Indian documents. During police interrogation at District Intelligence Branch (DIB), he admitted to being a Nepali national. Later, the accused was handed over to Naxalbari police, during which, several documents including an Indian voter card by the name of Nehal Routia, Aadhaar card, identity card indicating citizen of Nepal, and a passport were recovered. Today, the accused has been produced before the Siliguri Divisional Court, while, police are engaged in further investigation.
