Nepal national and Ivorian arrested for illegally entering India in Naxalbari

Naxalbari, 31st July: A Nepal national and an Ivorian were apprehended on charges of attempting to illegally enter India near the Indo-Nepal border in Naxalbari. The detained individuals are identified as D. Lekpahi Saira, a citizen of Ivory Coast, and Arun Limbu, resident of Nepal.


 

According to reports, on Tuesday, the detainees allegedly attempted to enter into India from Nepal through the Mechi River near Kotia jote in Naxalbari. During this, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel intercepted and interrogated them based on suspicion. Subsequently, both individuals were handed over to the Naxalbari police.


 

Police sources revealed that the Ivorian national had been residing in Nepal for the past three years to play football. On Wednesday, the detained individuals were presented in the court of Siliguri Sub-Division Court for further legal proceedings. Meanwhile, the entire incident is under further investigation.
