The destructive earthquake in Nepal claimed about 157 lives and over a hundred injured. Thousands of people in the Northwest Nepal highlands spent the Saturday night sleeping outside in the bitter cold. Roads to the steep region are obstructed by landslides leading to difficulties in rescue operation.
Reportedly, the unexpected earthquake that rigged the Jajarkot district on Friday night caused significant damage to the few concrete structures in the towns of Nepal as well as the collapse of most of the houses in the rural. Several people were unable to retrieve their belongings from under the rubble.
