Naxalbari’s Subrati Sangha preps for Durga Puja with customary ‘Khutti Puja’

Naxalbari, 11th August: Subrati Sangha of Naxalbari has commenced preparations for Durga Puja with the traditional ‘Khutti Puja’ ceremony. This year marks the 73rd year of their Durga Puja celebrations. The theme for this year is a pavilion (mandap) decorated with bael (wood-apple) leaves, with a budget of 10 lakh rupees.


The ‘Khutti Puja’ ceremony was attended by Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh of the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, along with members of Subrati Sangha, including Biraj Sarkar, Shantanu Dey, Niloy Chakraborty, and Saurav Roy, among others.

In this regard, Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh mentioned that, like every year, the Puja will have a thematic approach and will adhere to government guidelines. The organizers also expressed that they expect many visitors from Bihar, Kharibari, Nepal, and the hills to attend Subrati Sangha’s Puja, as they have in previous years.
