Naxalbari, 13th July: On the auspicious day of Guru Purnima, Subrati Sangha Club of Naxalbari started prepping for Durga Utsav with the Khuti Puja. The puja was held at the club premises on Wednesday.
This year the club’s puja ceremony is entering its 70th year. Every year they add their uniqueness to the ceremony and it is expected the same this year. This time, the attraction is the Kalash-shaped pavilion with the statue from Kumartuli which is made of coconut rope. The chairperson of the puja committee, Biraj Sarkar, said that this time the puja will not only be attracting the eyes of Naxalbari but also from other places.
