Naxalbari, 18th August: The Babupara Sporting Club in Naxalbari has officially begun its preparations for Durga Puja with the completion of the “Khutti Puja” (Pole Ceremony). This year marks the 65th anniversary of the club’s Durga Puja celebration.
The club has allocated a budget of Rs 9 lakh to budget the festivities. The theme will focus on women, and the decoration will feature an elaborate lighting setup from Chandannagar.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of club members and Sabhadhipati Arun Ghosh of the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad, among others. Ghosh expressed his optimism about a significant turnout for this year’s high-budget Durga Puja.
