Narcotic tablet trafficking using e-rickshaw exposed in Siliguri, two arrested, 12,000 tablets seized

Siliguri, 07th February: The Detective Department (DD) has exposed narcotic tablet trafficking being carried out using an e-rickshaw in Siliguri, seizing around 12,000 banned tablets and arresting two accused following a tip-off.


According to police sources, the DD team acted on specific intelligence and recovered the contraband from a QR Code fitted e-rickshaw parked in a deserted area near the former SJDA office. The arrested accused have been identified as Sudesh Rajak and Sudipto Pandit, residents of the Pradhan Nagar police station area.

Police said the accused were allegedly using the e-rickshaw to deliver narcotic tablets to different parts of the city. The seized tablets are estimated to be worth several lakh rupees in the illegal market.


Both accused were arrested under the NDPS Act and produced before Siliguri court. Further investigation is underway.
